Thursday November 29, 2018 Event
Most of us have a few issues that we care strongly about. Here, among friends and good food, we are going to learn how to effectively advocate to the Texas legislature about the issues and bills we care about, getting ready for the legislative session opening in January. Get laws you care about into the passing lane.
Augie’s Alamo City BBQ Steakhouse
909 Broadway St, San Antonio, TX, 78215
6:30-8:30 PM
Become familiar with how the process works, how to find out when hearings for bills are scheduled, how to sign up to testify to a legislative committee as a witness (anyone can), look up who is sponsoring and who is opposing bills on your subject, and how to effectually weigh in on the topic. Professional lobbyists are not the only people who can influence legislative outcomes.
Rachel Malone, Texas Director of Gun Owners of America, is well versed in the process, and will teach us the little-known ins and outs of effective legislative advocacy.
This training is free to attend, Republicans of all ages are welcome, just buy your own food and drink from the menu.
