Your Seat at City Council Awaits

Thursday, May 2nd  at 6:00 PM
Municipal Plaza Building
114 W Commerce St
San Antonio, TX

(Don’t go to the building that says “City Hall.” That’s not where the City Council Meets. It’s across the street, next door to the Cathedral.)

Viva Fiesta! Due to this oh-so-San Antonio tradition monopolizing the downtown area and offices, we are pushing our monthly event back to May 2nd.
We will be meeting in the City Council Chambers as the guests of District 10 Councilman Clayton Perry.
This is TWO DAYS before City Election Day, and the mayor and every single city council member is on the ballot. In spite of infamous low turnout and low awareness of city council, these elected city officials make major decisions that directly affect your life and wallet. (Anybody notice the city tax rates and programs we are paying for? Notice any city policies that you don’t agree with?)
There is history at city hall, and you’ll be interested to learn some of the back stories about how we got where we are. Come hear from insiders and ask questions.
Afterwards we’ll walk to a local institution for eats and drinks, to continue the conversation. It’s guaranteed to be eye-opening, and you’ll leave inspired to see that your friends and colleagues all vote on May 4th!

If you are interested in serving in an officer position in the Young Republicans of Bexar County for the coming year, representing our club to the state federation and steering local club activities, see Karen or Justin.
